Relationship Property and Dispute Resolution can often be a stressful and challenging time for clients, but Gallie Miles Director Kirsty McDonald does her best to stay focused on solutions to help clients move forward with their lives.
“It can be quite a challenging area to work in, as people are going through dramatic changes in their lives and there can be a lot of emotion involved,” says Kirsty.
Kirsty has over 30 years of experience, since 1994. Over her career she has had a wide range of experience, including time in a large Auckland firm and time in the UK, working for a major London law firm and at a local council.
Since returning from the UK, she has worked in private practice and has been at Gallie Miles since 2009. She became a Director in 2010 and heads the Litigation Team, which also includes Rachel Cooper and Page Tyler.
She has extensive experience in dispute resolution, including complex relationship property, estate and trust disputes, civil disputes and mediations.
At the end of the day, Kirsty says her goal is to get the best possible outcome for her client.
“I enjoy being able to step clients through the process and help them achieve a good outcome,” she says.
“I try to be focused, strategic and practical in my approach, so that clients get the best possible result and walk away feeling satisfied.”
Outside of work, Kirsty has two sons and two step sons through her husband. When time permits, she enjoys running (slowly), and relaxing with books, wine, cooking and entertaining with friends and family.
