Holly Finds Her Home

Gallie Miles Cambridge Legal Executive Holly Watson is a running machine. About to complete her seventh marathon (she’s also done 19 half marathons!!!), she tells herself it will be her last each time, then signs up for another.

“I have my seventh marathon coming up in Auckland in November. I always say ‘last one’ during a marathon, then sign up for the next,” she says.

Originally from Hertfordshire, England, she came to New Zealand in 2010 on a working holiday.

“Growing up, I always knew I wanted to travel and meet new people. I was undecided on what I wanted to do though. I tried flight crew for one week, then tried being an architect, then criminology,” she says.  

“After working in Australia for a year, I popped over to check out Tolkien land and fell in love with NZ and didn’t go back.”

The travel bug brought her here, but New Zealand made her stay.

She started working as a Legal Assistant in Cambridge in 2016 and qualified as a Legal Executive while working in private practice.

She then spent four years working at Public Trust completing conveyancing and PPPR – property and welfare guardian applications, before returning to private practice with Gallie Miles Cambridge in 2026.

She specialises in property law, predominantly assisting residential conveyancing clients and first home buyers.

“I really enjoy working with property clients, including helping first-time home buyers get into their first homes, which is super rewarding,” she says.

“I’ve also assisted clients who are upsizing their properties or subdividing, as well as working on estate law matters.”

Outside of work, in addition to running, Holly lives on a lifestyle block and is always busy in her garden or taking care of the chickens, goats or alpacas.
